First topic message reminder :

Forum HTTPS address Coming soon Now here



Dear members and non members,

As you may know most sites will be going over to the new HTTPS addresses and we have gave it lots of thought about moving the site in to the world of HTTPS.

No the good news is we have now thought about this and we will be going over to the new address in the next 1 to 4 days.


 Q, What will change?

 A, The forum address will go from https://www.achatworld.com To https://www.achatworld.com

This will remove the lock icon from your browser's and make us linked as a safe site.

Q, Do i need to change my bookmarks that i have saved for this site

A, No the old links will still work so no need to change a thing.

Q, What Else will need to be done?

A, Lots of things will need to be changed on the forum but most of it will be done behind the scenes by myself " @Ape " and @Jenny and maybe the other staff members.

Q, Is there any thing the members of the forum can do to help?

A, YES sure there is Wink you can edit your own posts if you have made ones with Photo's and image's and copy the URL of the item you posted and then past the code to re-host it with servimg.com

1) can i ask all the java were automatically changed or you fix them manual ?
iam referring to issues like iframe or developed by (forum http url)

2) forum templates all need to be fixed manual?

3) if i buy the https just to check my issues can i not use it and return (easily?) to http as long as i want (i have many credits many many sitting there)

4) what about all members avatars/signatures ? wiil automatically change ?

5) what about all the sources links (the source to avoid copyright infringement)how can i know if the urls are https

i make an attempt first to change all my images (need pills)


if i am out of topic ...transfer my post elsewhere or delete it no problem Smile

moving over is a long thing to do if you have lots of posts and Emotes and other things

i had to go in and change all none HTTP codes in the templates and in the CSS files all the ones that was hosted by servimg changed on their own other than the HTTP addresses they had to be changed by hand

That took the longest time to do as i have lots of items in the credit store.

it will be a long job to a big site my advice is to change everything slow and then change over if you like but right now until this is sorted about the popups we will not be going back.

As for turning it on and off well this is easy to do just one click to turn on and one to turn it off again.
